After living in Northern California where my daughter was born, we moved to Georgia, where I continued my studies in Photography, Graphic Design and Computer Animation.  I also worked as a Production Manager at an Atlanta retouching studio. My goal has been to work independently so that all my creative abilities can be utilized. The creation of 22 Flamingos is the outcome of my vision.  A new addition to 22 Flamingos is a page displaying some of my favorite paintings.  I began painting around 5 years ago in hopes of having an outlet to express myself while holding a brush in my hand, instead of a mouse.  My work has evolved showing my passion for color and shape.  I refer to my paintings as “Color Landscapes”….with a story behind each one.  My inspiration is Dale Chihuly, a world renowned glass artist. My greatest accomplishment to date is “Flowing.”  This painting was originally created for the “Going to Red” show at VSA Arts of Georgia Gallery in February, 2009.  The final outcome expresses a part of me; a part of what my body was dealing with at the time.  After debuting “Flowing” at VSA Arts of Georgia, it was displayed at the Mason Murer Gallery in Atlanta, as part of the “No Limits” show in August of 2010.  While hanging at Mason Murer Gallery, Cocoa Cola Headquarters expressed an interest in hanging my piece at their headquarters in Atlanta, GA, for the duration of a show to be created at the beginning of 2011.  My most recent project is a collaboration with Georgia Tech students and the Atlanta Aquarium.  “Dolphins on Parade” displays my life-sized painted dolphin which includes ten, embedded sensors. The dolphin enables the visually impaired to activate sensors by touch and hear dolphin sounds or dolphin facts.  My visual interpretation of water ripples is shown on the dolphin, representing sound. Please feel free to look through my gallery of paintings on Facebook at 22 Flamingos.
Enjoy….
